# Get started

> Subscribe in Microsoft Marketplace, approve permissions and deploy the Outlook add-in.

> **Status: in development.** These steps describe the planned onboarding.

## 1. Subscribe

Find **Valedo** in Microsoft Marketplace (or in Microsoft 365 admin center) and subscribe. The subscription belongs to the organisation that will use it. Each organisation can have one active Valedo subscription.

Every new subscription starts with a **14-day free trial** with full functionality. Microsoft does not charge you during the trial.

## 2. Finish setup on the Valedo page

After you subscribe, Microsoft sends you to the Valedo setup page (`admin.valedo.uniwave.ai`). Sign in with your work account. The page:

1. shows the plan you chose;
2. asks an administrator to approve Valedo's access to your directory;
3. sets up your organisation and starts the trial.

You can reopen this page later from Marketplace (**Configure** or **Manage**). It recognises an existing subscription.

### What you approve

| Permission | Why Valedo needs it |
| - | - |
| Read all users' full profiles (`User.Read.All`) | Fill in names, titles, phone numbers and other fields in signatures |
| Read all group memberships (`GroupMember.Read.All`) | Apply rules that target groups |

Approval needs a **Global Administrator** or **Privileged Role Administrator**. If you don't have one of these roles, send the setup link to someone who does.

Valedo stores only the directory fields that signatures and rules use. It does not read email content.

## 3. Deploy the Outlook add-in

Deploy the Valedo add-in from **Microsoft 365 admin center → Settings → Integrated apps** to the users or groups who should get signatures. Start with a pilot group, then widen it. Assign top-level groups: Microsoft doesn't deploy add-ins to members of nested groups. Microsoft recommends a Global Administrator for managing add-ins. The setup checklist in the Admin Portal links to this step.

*Deploy the add-in to a top-level pilot group first.*

A new deployment can take up to 24 hours to reach everyone's Outlook, and changes to an existing deployment up to 72 hours ([Microsoft: centralized deployment FAQ](https://learn.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/admin/manage/centralized-deployment-faq)). Users may need to restart Outlook.

## 4. Create your first signature

1. Wait until the checklist shows that your directory is synced.
2. Create a template and set it as the default (see [Templates and rules](https://docs.valedo.uniwave.ai/admin-guide/templates-and-rules.md)).
3. Send yourself a test message.

*The setup checklist in the Admin Portal.*

The setup checklist in the Admin Portal tracks these steps: permissions approved → directory synced → default template → add-in deployed.

## The first admin

The person who completes the setup page becomes the first Valedo admin. Add more people in [Roles](https://docs.valedo.uniwave.ai/admin-guide/roles.md).
